Focal Theatre Lab is an Ames-based theatre collective whose mission is to engage the Ames, ISU, and surrounding communities with the work of new and local playwrights. We believe that supporting and sharing new plays is vital in creating a vibrant arts community that explores local and contemporary experiences, perspectives, and storytelling. We value artists and their work, audiences and their perspectives, collaboration, experimentation, and community.
New Script Series
The New Script Series is a set of monthly readings of brand new plays by local playwrights and theatre artists. This program is meant to demystify the theatre-making process and encourage conversation between aspiring storytellers and community members. Admission is free and events are open to the public.
